Virginia Beach Public Library’s Teen Advisory Groups (TAG) are teaming up to brighten the season for local families.

This year, TAG volunteers are collecting new, unwrapped toys for children supporting families working with the Virginia Beach Department of Human Services.

How You Can Help

Your donation doesn’t just sit in a bin — it goes straight into the hands of Virginia Beach parents who could use extra support this season. If you’re able to give, here’s how to take part:

  • Purchase a new toy.
  • Drop it off, unwrapped, in one of the decorated collection boxes located at any VBPL branch.
  • Donations accepted until: Dec. 10, 2025.

Why It Matters

A single toy may seem small, but for families navigating financial strain, it can be a lifeline of joy or an unspoken reminder that their community sees them and cares. For our Teen Advisory Groups, this project offers an opportunity to develop civic responsibility, practice leadership, and make a tangible impact in their own city.

Where Your Gift Goes

All items collected through this project are delivered directly to Virginia Beach families in need through the Department of Human Services. Everything stays right here in our community.

Join Us in Making the Season Brighter

Whether you donate one toy or a handful, your contribution helps spread kindness during a time of year that can be especially tough for many local families.

Thank you for supporting the VBPL Teen Advisory Groups’ 2025 holiday service project.
