The Office of Performance and Accountability (OPA):
- Partners with all City departments
- Uses data and nationwide best practices to improve how work gets done
- Provides practical tools to increase the speed and quality of City services
- Creates, maintains, and shares information about City goals, efforts, and progress
OPA staff leads three primary programs to support City operations:
VBStrategy
Virginia Beach's Focused Action Plan translates the City Councilās vision and goals into a strategy with action plans across three key focus areas:
- Govern
- Envision
- Invigorate
VBStat
Special āStatā projects focus on current City needs and follow specific guidelines:
- Accurate and timely information shared by all
- Use of effective tactics and strategies
- Rapid placement of resources
- Constant follow-up and assessment
VBPerformance
Departmental Performance Plans include information about the projects, goals, challenges, and achievements of each City department. OPA staff works with City departments to support efforts to make City government more efficient and effective in how it services the community.
